Fleet Feet Aptos - Half Marathon, She Trains
How many years have you been running: I have been involved in athletics all my life and so have been doing some form of running for many many years. I swam competitively and played tennis throughout highschool and I played division II tennis in college. I began focusing on running and racing 4 years ago. My first race was a Marathon in Colorado and I have completed more marathons and ultra marathons during that time.
Coaching Philosophy: As a coach I believe in helping to spread the love for running and making it achievable for all. Running can feel like a sport that is not always reachable for everyone, but it absolutely can be. I believe in working with everyone where they are at to achieve the type of movement they are dreaming of. This can take so many different forms from running their first marathon to walking a 5k. I believe in supporting and helping everyone achieve whatever their goals are.
What is your favorite thing about coaching: My favorite thing about coaching is seeing how people progress throughout a training. I love seeing how much more confident people become throughout the training programs and how their love for running and movement grows.
What are you most excited about for the She Trains Program: The She is Beautiful race is one of my favorite Santa Cruz races because of the group of people who participate in it. This training program is especially full of supportive and encouraging trainees and it is amazing to see the community that people develop throughout the training.
What is your favorite race to run: My favorite race to run is the Fort Ord 50k. This race is beautiful, usually great weather, and full of fun people.
What is your favorite shoe to run in: Hoka Arahi
