Where to Run in Topeka

Topeka, Kansas’s capital city, offers a variety of running opportunities. From urban paths to technical trails, Topeka has it all. Post run refreshment? The city offers many coffee shops, restaurants and pubs to enjoy your favorite beverage or food. Running weather is pleasant for most of the year thanks to mild winters and shoulder seasons. Summer days in August, though, can approach 110 degrees.

Best for: runs of 3 miles or less, speed workouts, long runs

This is an out-and-back trail near Topeka, Kansas. Relatively flat with some minor undulations. Much of the trail is covered. Great trail for any distance from short runs to longer runs. Because it is relatively flat, it’s a great option for speed workouts or for new runners who aren’t interested in tackling hills.
